Telstra, Ericsson and Ciena demonstrate world-first secure encryption solution

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) and Telstra successfully demonstrated Ciena’s (NYSE: CIEN) new WaveLogic Encryption solution at 200Gbps speed on the busy Inter-capital Melbourne- Canberra-Sydney route. With both enterprise and consumers accessing increasing amounts of data from cloud
services, the ability to offer secure transport at high speeds is integral for service providers.

For the first time, the trial with Telstra, Ericsson and Ciena demonstrated the capabilities of this in-flight coherent optical encryption solution for high-capacity infrastructure environments. The solution effectively provides business the assurance that data is secure and protected as
it leaves the private cloud and traverses across networks.
