Synthesio Announces Addition of Image Analytics To Social Intelligence Platform

Synthesio, the leading global Social Intelligence platform, announced today Synthesio Image Analytics, capturing data from, and providing analytics on, images posted about global brands and agencies. Along with Synthesio’s current text analytics, Synthesio Image Analytics will provide customers a powerful photo enrichment feed from Ditto Labs’ image recognition software.

“1.8 billion photos are shared everyday on social media platforms. With the immense popularity of photo-sharing behavior, and the sheer volume of photos uploaded online daily, brands need a mechanism to recognize, analyze and act strategically upon these photos as part of their social insights program. This is an invaluable next step in providing a more complete understanding of consumer behavior for our customers,” said Leah Pope, Synthesio’s VP of Global Marketing. “There has always been a gap in the data collected from images posted online that do not identify a brand with text. With Image Analytics, however, we fill this void. Brands can now automatically “listen” to photos in the same way they have been able to with text, to get a more complete understanding of their presence and health. This will allow them to be more strategic with campaign measurement and engagement strategies.”

Synthesio Image Analytics will provide customers with an ability to gather a slew of new social analytics through images posted online, allowing them to:

  • Identify influencers and brand loyalists who are posting images of their brand or business without tagging or mentioning the company by name.
  • Learn how consumers use and “brand” their brands. Understand the context in which a brand or product is photographed to fuel more strategic product and campaign targeting and strategy.
  • Understand sentiment with a smile. Through Ditto’s image recognition, brands will be able to analyze facial expressions in an image to provide a new level to sentiment tracking and analysis.

“With the increase of visual imaging on emerging social platforms, such as Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram, it is crucial that every Social Intelligence platform has image recognition capabilities to offer their customers,” said Matthew Zito, Synthesio’s VP of Product. “Synthesio Image Analytics provides our customers with this next-level analytics that will allow them to grab qualitative and quantitative data from both text and images. The ability to combine these analytics along with the top-level data that Synthesio customers are already use to will be a real game changer for our customers who look to find new ways and places to strategically target their digital marketing campaigns and analyze their results.”

“It’s exciting to partner with a best-in-class social intelligence platform like Synthesio to make our photo analytics enrichment available to the world’s biggest brands and agencies,” said David Rose, CEO of Ditto Labs. “Integrating with existing platforms that savvy marketers already embrace is an opportunity to showcase user-generated content and insights previously missed by not having access to Ditto Labs’ firehose of photo analytics.”
