Sophos Offers Complete Security Suites

Sophos has launched new Complete Security Suites which help small-medium businesses and departments deploy a combination of six key security functions, with a Unified firewall and management console wrapped around it for convenient management and deployment.

These suites which are a combination of software- and hardware-based point products cover the gamut vulnerable security points that keep chief security officers up at night – endpoint devices, email, data, the Web, mobile and data protection. If an organisation so chooses, all these points can have individual Sophos point products to address them, but taking up the whole suite means organisations need only worry about one license and there would be ease of management as well as deployment of the solution.

Kelvin Lim, director of sales in APAC said, “We are the only security vendor able to offer this breadth of solutions at the enterprise level.”

He added, “We recognise that partners are operating in a competitive environment, so they need tools that will help them meet their clients’ demands for stronger security systems. We have built this complete security system for IT because IT teams shouldn’t have to spend time determining which of their point security product is at fault every time they have a problem, only to find that the problem is that the point products don’t work together.”

He also said that their products are backed by support from Sophos themselves as well as their partners. Sophos does not have any retail products and in Malaysia, their two authorised distributors are Applied Business Systems and Afiintra. Lim also mentioned their channel ecosystem is very active with monthly knowledge transfers and frequent product awareness sessions. There are plans to design a tiered channel programs for their enterprise resellers and partners.

Sophos in Asia Pacific

Sophos is the fastest growing of the three largest endpoint security companies, and according to Gartner, are leaders in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for not just endpoint protection, but also mobile data protection. Their recent acquisition of German-based unified threat management (UTM) experts, Astaro, also now firmly plants Sophos in the Magic Quadrant.

Sophos in Malaysia is headed by country manager, Wong Joon Hoong, with support by an enterprise sales manager. He is soon to be further supported by a channel development and training manager.

That isn’t all.

Sophos is in the process of moving their support centre from Australia to the Philippines. “We want our engineers’ culture to be closer to APAC culture. Philippines is easier to access as well,” said Lim. The plan is also to grow headcount as much as two to three times, as well as grow the professional services team size. The UK- and US-based security vendor has had presence in Asia for over 15 years.
