Share/Guide launches 2019 Events Calendar

(L-R): Yang Berusaha Tan Chuan Ou, Deputy Secretary General (Operational) from KKMM, Veritas Technologies’ Country Manager, Alicia Joseph, Computer Business Solutions SB’s General Manager, Lee Cheng Ban, Silverlake Group’s Regional Product Manager, Chang Kok Khoon, and Share/Guide Chairman, Nazrul Hisham Abdul Hamid.

This year marks Share/Guide’s 30th year in the industry, and yet another year that the association for IT users, has been diligently served by its committed group of volunteers, in the form of the Management Council, and supported by a loyal membership base and sponsors.

Its chairman, Nazrul Hisham Abdul Hamid added that 2019 is also another year of challenge as the industry braces for current tech trends like ever increasing usage of digital technologies and the Industry Revolution 4.0.

He said, “We are determined to take up a leadership role as a representative body in Malaysia representing IT users.” The objective is to play a bigger role in the nation’s economy planning, he had explained.

The chairman’s statement also draws attention to the fact that of the association’s 67 member organisations, just 6 already has a total annual IT spend of almost RM2 billion, a fact that was unveiled during a recent internal Share/Guide survey.

Recognising the need to be more prominent within the IT community, the association is continuing efforts in organising more value-added activities in 2019.

Share/Guide’s mission is ongoing, and a recent events launch marks the renewed vigour with which the national IT users association is approaching the new year.

The activities that have been planned takes into account the requirements and feedback from its members

Mr. Nazrul concluded, “In 2018, we had the pleasure of receiving the patronage of the Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM), YB Tuan Eddin Syazlee Shith, in gracing some of our annual activities.

“We are hoping that for the coming year, the Ministry and the YB Deputy Minister will continue to give his support to SHARE/GUIDE’s activities as well as recommending government GLCs to join our association.”
