Red Hat Accelerate Innovation With Open Hybrid Cloud
Red Hat Malaysia reinforced its commitment to help Malaysian organizations accelerate their digital transformation and innovation journey with a hybrid cloud strategy. During a media briefing held in conjunction with their Hybrid Cloud Series themed “Bridge Your Clouds. Build Your Future”, Red Hat highlighted that an increasing number of organizations are already down the path of a holistic cloud strategy, spanning on-prem and public cloud deployments.
The event also highlighted the two recent product launches of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and Red Hat OpenShift 4 that unleashes the full potential of the hybrid cloud.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 can support workloads and operations that stretch from enterprise data centers to multiple public clouds. Red Hat OpenShift 4 on the other hand is the next generation of Red Hat’s trusted enterprise Kubernetes platform, re engineered to address the complex realities of container orchestration in production systems.
When speaking to the media, Red Hat executives Richard Koh, general manager for ASEAN, Kingsley Wood, senior director, Cloud Solutions, APAC and Eric Quah, country manager for Red Hat Malaysia, emphasized that the move to cloud is inevitable for majority of enterprises in Malaysia and the region. To deliver competitive advantages, IT organizations must shift from traditional infrastructure operations to flexible, service-centric environments.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 is redesigned for the hybrid cloud era. According to IDC, 70 percent of customers already deploy multi cloud environments and 64 percent of applications in a typical IT portfolio today are based in a cloud environment, whether public or private. Meanwhile, the Red Hat Enterprise Linux economy is also expected to drive $80+ billion in ecosystem revenue in 2019 while the net new ecosystem revenues are expected to total more than $150 billion through 2023.
Sharing a regional customer examples such as DBS Bank, who is using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform to build new cloud native applications and was recently awarded the world’s best bank award, Richard Koh highlighted that ASEAN enterprises are increasingly considering the move to hybrid cloud to future proof their business.
