Progress Helps Customers Drive Digital Business Forward with Enhancements Across Product Portfolio

Progress (NASDAQ: PRGS) has strengthened its offerings with enhancements to key products across its portfolio.  This includes introduction of the latest release of Progress® OpenEdge®, the leading platform for simplifying the development, deployment and management of global business applications for faster time-to-market and Progress® Rollbase®, the rapid application development platform.

Furthering this momentum, Progress has been driving .NET UI innovation with enhanced tools and support for all the newest Microsoft Development Platforms. Progress also brings major feature upgrades to Telerik® Sitefinity™ CMS and Digital Experience Cloud, its popular content management and customer analytics platforms.

IDC Asia/Pacific predicts that by the end of 2017, 60% of the top 1000 enterprises in the Asia Pacific region will have digital transformation (DX) at the center of their corporate strategy.[1]

As the marketplace sees a greater shift towards DX, enterprises will need to focus on being agile and productive to stay ahead of the market needs. Progress has been enhancing its solutions to enable this transformation. Leveraging technology advancements from the Telerik acquisition in 2014, the latest offerings provide an improved user experience, multi-platform support and personalized content, while boosting developer and digital marketer productivity.

“Our solutions have always been designed with the aim to help businesses exceed their customers’ expectations. As more organisations in Asia Pacific move towards digital transformation, it is becoming essential to innovate and provide enhanced solutions that can solve the businesses challenges enterprises face today,” said Jerry Rulli, Chief Operating Officer, Progress. “The new releases advance our core capabilities to address these needs and provide a comprehensive suite of solutions for enterprises, developers and digital marketers.”

New Progress OpenEdge

User Experience and Accessibility: Progress now offers the Telerik® Platform for OpenEdge® application. Customers and partners can extend OpenEdge applications with advanced mobile app development capabilities, test and deployment features, as well as easy-to-use JavaScript Data Objects (JSDO) for easy integration of mobile apps with existing Progress OpenEdge business logic.

Data Security and Access: Data security and access continues to be a concern from the C-Suite down. The Progress OpenEdge platform enables secure applications with comprehensive support by the latest Transport Layered Security (TLS), ensuring privacy between communicating applications and application users. The Progress OpenEdge platform also offers secure data management via multi-tenant table implementations and helps minimize the risk of malicious attacks.

Developer Productivity: Progress is devoted to providing technology that helps advance business, lower costs and increase operational efficiencies for their customers and partners. A huge area of focus for this latest release of the OpenEdge platform was based on input from the Progress developer community.

Progress Rollbase 4.0

The Progress Rollbase platform has a new, responsive user interface (UI), redesigned using rich Telerik Kendo UI widgets, allowing applications to run unchanged on a wide range of devices. The integrated offering gives developers quick and easy access to Rollbase data and user authentication, for use in building mobile applications–without downloading SDKs or learning a new language.

Progress also announced the Progress Rollbase Marketplace, an online storefront where customers can post, share and download Progress Rollbase applications.

.NET UI Innovation

Telerik continues to drive product innovation forward with support for Visual Studio 2015 and the newly-available beta release of Telerik® UI for Universal Windows Platform. It equips .NET developers to write apps for all Windows 10 enabled devices, be it on the desktop, mobile or IoT.

Telerik Sitefinity CMS and DEC

The latest release of the Telerik Sitefinity CMS and DEC provides more flexibility and agility for organisations to deliver contextually relevant, personalized experiences to website users, and offers new productivity enhancements that drive easier-to-use personalisation options for the digital marketer’s toolkit.

The release also offers extended cloud support for Amazon Cloud, as well as Microsoft Azure Web App, which provides cloud auto-scaling and automatic configurations.
