MasterCard Innovation Forum 2015

The growth of mobile commerce and other forms of digital payments has significantly changed the landscape of the payments industry. More significantly, according MasterCard’s Chief Emerging Payments Officer, Global Products & Solutions, Ed McLaughlin, the payments industry has evolved the needs of consumers and merchants.

For example, consumers demand safe, simple and smart shopping experiences that are frictionless. That means an Omni-channel experience for them to be able to shop any time, anywhere on any device.

Simultaneously, merchants have to meet consumer needs across all channels that consumers are on.  They aim to be relevant to the consumer before, during and after transactions, while driving higher loyalty by predicting customer behaviour and personalising deals.

All this and more was discussed during MasterCard’s annual Innovation Forum in Shangri-La HotelKL, that showcased innovation as a core business philosophy, and MasterCard’s multi-layered approach to working with start-ups around the world, to bring ideas to fruition.
