Firmus’ 7th CIO Cybersecurity Conference with PIKOM CIO Chapter
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Firmus’ 7th CIO Cybersecurity Conference in collaboration with PIKOM’s CIO Chapter has concluded successfully in Jakarta, recently. This event is significant because of the size of the contingent this year, the biggest ever in the cybersecurity provider’s history of organising this annual conference.CEO and co-founder of Firmus, Alan See thanked all the company sponsors, and even individual cybersecurity professionals that have supported Firmus over the years despite moving from one vendor company to another.
Individuals who have worked with Firmus since Day one for example were Ang Ban Leong and Alvin Tan who are currently with Cylance and Palo Alto Networks respectively.
See also said, “This is the second year we are working with PCC, and the chairman Chia Nam Liang has been very, very supportive, along with PCC Committee members like Sekar and Rani.”
A mainstay event for the industry
When chairman of the PIKOM CIO Chapter, Chia Nam Liang, gave his welcome note, he described Firmus’ CIO Cybersecurity Conference series as fast becoming a major event in the IT industry.
He also described this year’s conference as the biggest so far, in terms of attendees – over 60 CIOs and CISOs, along with 12 major sponsors, for a grand total of nearly 100 head count.
“This year is special because Firmus is 10 years old.. that’s a remarkable achievement,” Chia said, while also adding that for him a trademark of Firmus cybersecurity conferences is that one gets the chance to know all the latest cybersecurity products and technologies.
“It’s like a super crash course that’s useful for time-challenged people like me, to get so much information in a single day,” Chia shared.
His feedback is echoed by his industry colleagues, listed below in no particular order:
“(There was) a myriad of products and services to choose from and the take home message for me is that you need to incorporate several components of the security puzzles that best suit your environment, for endpoint or network protection as well as other best practices in place, in order to complete the whole picture.” – Connie Yee, Iris Corporation
“The experience we had was really remarkable – To be honest with you, I am really impressed and Kudos to Firmus and all the sponsors! The content is exactly what we leaders are looking for and I in particular am looking forward to know more about two particular products (ForeScout and FireEye). This event saw the largest group of sponsors and IT leaders attending and that is a remarkable achievement.” – Pusphanathan M. Vengidasalam, LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort
“First of all I would like to give special thanks to Alan See and Eric of Firmus for giving me the opportunity to attend the Cybersecurity conference held in Jakarta. I found the conference informative to address current Cybersecurity threats. It also gave me an opportunity to meet all the CIOs across all industries as well as Technology providers to exchange knowledge and experience.” – Choong Yat Weng, Malacca Securities.
“Congratulations on hosting an amazing cyber security conference.” – Dennis Wong, INTI International University & Colleges.
“Kudos to Firmus and all the sponsors, for an event that was well-organised and extremely informative. It was an invaluable experience to hear from so many vendors in one session, and Firmus successfully did it in a way for us to get a flavour of what each major vendor has to offer – all in one day.” – Rani Nathwani, PIKOM CIO Chapter, EXCO member.
“In my opinion, there were NO shortcomings. If anything, the event was beyond my expectation. Be proud of yourselves for not only an event well organised but also for an organisation well run too. Kudos to you Alan and team, you nailed it!!! Keep it up and keep it going.” – Sekar Jaganathan, PIKOM CIO Chapter, EXCO member.
