EXABYTES Acquires Singapore Hosting Company Signetique

Signetique which is one of the largest Singapore-based cloud hosting provider that offers virtual private servers, dedicated server, cloud hosting and managed services. Establish for over 15 years, their wide customer-base consist of small medium size enterprises (SME) to large, regional and international multi-national companies.

Exabytes’ Founder and CEO, Chan Kee Siak says that the acquisition of Signetique is part of Exabytes’ regional expansion to cement the position of the Malaysian company; to be what is believed will be the second largest hosting group in Singapore. With the acquisition Exabytes will now have a 15 percent share of the Singapore hosting market. Earlier in August 2014, Exabytes announced that it had acquired USONYX Pte Ltd.

“Together with Exabytes Singapore, all three companies will continue to operate separately, focusing on different segments of the Singaporean market. Overall, I foresee that our overseas business revenue to grow to make up 40 percent of our total revenue,” says Chan.

In Malaysia, Exabytes is the No.1 Web Hosting Provider in Malaysia with a 30 percent market share. In 2014, Exabytes recorded a total of RM32million in revenue (ended as of 31 March 2015). The company is projected to grow by up to 50 percent by the end of FY2015.

Expanding to Indonesia

Over the next few years, we will be focusing on expanding within South East Asia and making more strategic partnerships within the Internet business scope. Being the transportation center to all major cities in South East Asia, Malaysia is a strategic location for us to expand regionally from,” explains Chan.

Exabytes’ next target is to offer its website hosting services and cloud-based expertise to the Indonesian market. Through the acquisition of Signetique, Exabytes acquires an immediate presence in Indonesia.

“Currently the Jakarta office focuses on customer service support for our customers in Malaysia and Singapore. There’s untapped potential in the Indonesian market, but we require careful planning before we can start our operations there; but by the end of 2015, we hope to launch full-fledged hosting services in Indonesia,” says Chan.

Recent Strategic Partnerships

Exabytes also recently announced two strategic partnerships. At the beginning of the year, Exabytes was appointed as Google AdWords™ Premier SME Partner (PSP) in Malaysia; while recently they teamed up with Japanese payment gateway leaders, GMO Payment Gateway Inc (GMO-PG).
