During a panel discussion about the role of technology in patient care, Dr. Mohd Azhari Yakub, Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at IJN, observed that medication adherence is a niche space that technology has opportunity to address.
“I am proud to say that CaringUp is the only app in Asia Pacific that deals specifically in adherence,” Dr. Mohd. Azhari said adding that adherence also requires total family involvement.
“Their children and spouses are also interested with the patient’s adherence to the treatment routine.”
According to CEO of CaringUp, Pervaiz Gul, the app which is available on Android and Apple platforms, is open to all around the world, and is free to everyone to use.
He added that there are plans to integrate the app with wearable devices in the future, and maybe even add gamification elements.
