Call for Submission of Application for Fujitsu Scholarship

Fujitsu, Asia No. 1 ICT brand is calling Malaysian working professionals to submit their application for a certificate management scholarship programme at the East-West Knowledge Leaders Program (EWKLP) offered by JAIMS (Japan-America Institute of Management Science) in Honolulu, which will end in a one-week study trip to Tokyo.

 

The EWKLP is a three (3) month long certificate management program that provides continued education for experienced business professionals with a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of full-time work experience.

 

The curriculum focus of EWKLP is on East-and-West global best practices delivered in a highly conducive learning environment for scholarship recipients to develop a wide range of knowledge-based leadership competencies and innovation skills.

Fujitsu established this scholarship program in 1985 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the company’s founding. The scholarship is aimed to provide the opportunity for people from the Asia-Pacific region, to contribute to their home countries by studying cross-cultural management at JAIMS. JAIMS was founded by Fujitsu in 1972 in the Honolulu suburb of Hawaii Kai.

Over the past 26 years, 416 business executives and professionals from 18 countries across the Asia-Pacific region have received the Fujitsu Scholarship to take part in JAIMS’ educational programmes. Out of these are 36 Malaysian, of which 10 attended EWKLP.

 

 

Application Details

The Fujitsu Scholarship programme is now open for applications from 18 Asia-Pacific countries, with the submission deadline of 30th November 2011.

 

The winner(s) of this professional scholarship will attend a 3-month learning programme in Hawaii and week long Japan Portion from 9th April 2012 to 17th July 2012 worth up to RM42,000 per student that covers full tuition fee, airfare, health insurance, and stipend toward living expenses.

 

The scholarship will also include a week in Japan at the end of the programme for experimental exposure to the Japanese culture and usage of ICT for social innovation; and the course completion certification award ceremony.

The eligibility criteria for application states that the working professional who possess i) a Bachelor degree 2) Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, ii) minimum 3 years of full-time working experience and iii) a significant level of English proficiency (IELTS overall band test result of 6.5 or higher).
