Business Value of the Digital Twin
For me, one of the highlights of Dassault Systeme’s annual conference was the presentation and panel discussion by William Roper Junior.
He is an American physicist and foreign policy strategist who oversaw procurement for the US Air Force and Space Force, for a few years, during the Obama and Trump administrations.
Needless to say, I was curious about his observations and views of digital transformation journeys that organisations go through. Here is a panel discussion he moderated with PepsiCo, Wichita State University, and Spirit Aerosystems. The topic in discussion is ‘Digital Transformation and the Business Value of the Virtual Twin” .
Dr. John Tombin from Wichita State, and Enrique Michel from PepsiCo are answering Dr. Roper’s question about the challenges to digital transformation.
Dr. Tombin says, it’s inertia, while Enrique thinks it is impatience to see results from digital transformation, as well resistance towards accepting the results that simulation technologies show them.

If you enjoyed this topic, Dr. Will Roper also had interesting things to say about artificial intelligence. Articles of this, will come out in the next few weeks!
