Alibaba Cloud Partners with SDEC To Accelerate Digitalisation In Sarawak
Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group and the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC), a company wholly-owned by the Sarawak Government through State Financial Secretary Inc. under the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, announced the collaboration today to digitalise Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Sarawak and to propel the state towards a digital future.
Through this cooperation, SDEC will leverage the powerful public cloud service of Alibaba Cloud, especially on the advanced features like elastic computing, big data and Artificial Intelligence (AI). SMEs that currently use SDEC’s cloud platform SDeCloud will be able to choose solutions and products provided by Alibaba Cloud. By maximizing Alibaba Cloud’s proven technology, local SMEs could achieve business agility, elasticity and scalability in a better way and optimize the cost for IT management.
With over 10 years’ experience in digital transformation and expertise in different industries, Alibaba Cloud will also help SDEC in terms of enhancing their impact and the reach of the corporation’s larger initiatives – to fast track the digitalisation programmes in Sarawak.
“SDEC’s vision is to accelerate economic prosperity through digitalisation. As a state link company, we need to synergize our efforts with all stakeholders towards accelerating the adoption of digitalisation amongst local SME’s. So it’s pivotal for us to select the right cloud service partner. Alibaba Cloud is one of the trusted international cloud service provider. The company’s robust cloud infrastructure and comprehensive suite of public cloud solutions especially in the areas of internet, e-commerce, retail, and fintech industries will definitely help SMEs on their digital journey,” said Sudarnoto Osman, Chief Executive Officer of SDEC.
Jordy Cao, General Manager of Malaysia, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, said: “Alibaba Cloud is proud to be chosen as a trusted partner of SDEC. We believe cloud computing technology can act as a catalyst for inclusive innovation. With our cutting-edge technology and commitment to Malaysia, we look forward to working with SDEC to transform the state and take it to greater heights as well as supporting local SMEs to better serve the people of Sarawak.”
This collaboration comes at an opportune time as Malaysia works towards the national Digital Economy Blueprint to make Malaysia a high-value-added economy and a net exporter of home-grown technologies and digital solutions by the end of this decade.
