Fuji Xerox’s New Smart Work Gateway Concept
Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific (Malaysia) recently launched its new line of innovative document management solutions, powered by the new “Smart Work Gateway Concept (SWG)”, at this year’s Fuji Xerox Innovation Showcase. The SWG Concept supports diverse workstyles to enable business people to perform at their utmost efficiency by collaborating with cloud service partners and offering various communication tools tailored to suit the needs, preferences and clearance level of any workplace personnel.
With the SWG concept, Fuji Xerox aims to create an ecosystem where its multifunction devices are organically linked with its own, as well as its partners’ cloud services. This new ecosystem will provide a secure yet open communications environment tailored to individual customers to support their workstyle transformation, by enhancing business users’ productivity and work process efficiency.
As important components that constitute the SWG concept, Fuji Xerox introduced 14 models of cloud-friendly, digital color multifunction devices under its ApeosPort-VI C/DocuCentre-VI C series.
Amidst significant advancement in ICT innovation, including cloud services and mobile technologies, Fuji Xerox believes that the key to balancing work and life is to boost the productivity of work processes by enabling an easy access to ever-increasing data, as well as the efficient use of relevant information anytime, anywhere, and in the required format.
“The SWG was developed in response to the rapidly growing demands of our customers – demands that conventional multifunction devices alone are unable to meet,” said Masashi Honda, President and Chief Executive Officer, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific. “Based on this concept, Fuji Xerox underscores its role in accelerating business efficiencies. We will continue to expand the ecosystem through collaborations with more partners, enhancing the role of a multifunction device into a communications portal.
Cloud Service Hub: a productivity-boosting solution
The new ApeosPort-VI C/DocuCentre-VI C series create a communication environment that improves productivity in the workplace by integrating the Cloud Service Hub – a new platform that links multifunction devices with multiple de-facto standard cloud services.
An increasing number of small and medium-sized businesses today are using the cloud for file-sharing and storage. This brings along technology-related tasks such as syncing information from multiple cloud services and converting hard copy documents into digital formats. Many cloud solutions also require time-consuming multi-step and multi-device processes.
With Cloud Service Hub, businesses are able to consolidate their existing cloud systems into a single interface to collaborate and manage information, with just a single sign-on. To quickly locate a file, one needs only a keyword instead of sifting through multiple folders.
Data can be scanned directly to the cloud and printed out from computers and mobile devices. Businesses are increasingly reliant on smartphones and other mobile devices, so being able to operate on the go will always pass muster! This means one will be better in sync with one’s colleagues at all times, even while on the go – all that is needed is just Internet connection.
Before sending documents, pictures and data to print, Cloud Service Hub automatically converts different file formats into PDF files, without user intervention required. Certainly saves that pesky effort.
Evolved multifunction device: new toner, industry’s fastest high-speed scanning in its class
With the new Super EA Eco toner, which boasts the smallest particles in its class, printing smoother creation of half tones is enabled. At the same time, it enables fusing at a temperature approximately 10 degrees Celsius lower than conventional toners, thus saving energy.
The high-end models have improved scanning productivity, achieving 270 pages of duplex scanning per minute, the industry’s fastest in its class. Bulk scanning of large volume documents can be efficiently done as the new multifunction devices scan the front and back of double-sided documents in a single scan.
Based on the SWG concept, Fuji Xerox is certainly pushing innovation to continuously help businesses transform work processes and workstyles …. and all beautifully delivered to boot.
