APPOINTMENT: SAP Malaysia has a new MD
SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced the appointment of Terrence Yong as Managing Director for Malaysia. Yong was previously Vice President, Head of Sales for SAP Malaysia, where he undertook full responsibility for software related business for SAP Malaysia. In this role, he was also responsible for scaling business and sales performance for SAP Malaysia.
In his new position as Managing Director for SAP Malaysia, Yong (pic) will lead sales, business strategy development and oversee SAP operations in Malaysia. He will also be responsible for helping businesses in Malaysia ‘run better and simpler’, as well as to continue building company bench strength for the future.
A Malaysian citizen, Yong is no stranger to the Malaysian office having begun his career in SAP in 2006, where he helped the team achieve significant growth for the SME business segment in the manufacturing industry. In 2008, Yong moved to Singapore and held various sales and support roles at SAP Singapore. He was most recently Senior Director, GCO Operations for SAP Southeast Asia, where he successfully led a team of operations professionals to provide business management support to the entire Southeast Asia organization.
A 16-year veteran of the IT industry, Yong has experience covering product marketing, strategic management of the SME and Enterprise business, as well as in leading Operations. Yong is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and reports to François Lançon, President and Managing Director for SAP Southeast Asia.
